AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ASSOCIATION

About ADIESA

ADIESA was incorporated in 2007 as a not-for-profit business association in accordance with the provisions of Associations Incorporation Act 1991 (as amended) of the Australian Capital Territory.  The ADIESA Constitution was accepted at a General Meeting of the Association on 24 November 2014. ADIESA is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act of the ACT.

The Association works closely with the Department of Defence in realising its objectives.  The Department participated in the drafting of the Association’s Charter and is represented at many levels within the Association’s activities. ADIESA constitutes the C3I (Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence) Environmental Working Group of the Capability Development Advisory Forum.

ADIESA consists of high technology companies providing C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence) solutions to the Australian Defence Force, and to offshore markets.  Sessions are conducted four times a year.

Technology specific Focus Groups are an important mechanism for providing early industry involvement in force development.  They consist of Defence and Industry representatives, and include an Industry Facilitator and a Defence Sponsor.

A critical element of ADIESA’s strategy is formation of strong relationships with senior Defence officials in all areas of C4I research, development, procurement and support.  ADIESA run a number of Focus Groups open to Defence personnel and members periodically throughout the year.

In addition to the Steering Group, an Executive Committee is responsible for corporate governance and industry-specific issues.
